Empowering Sustainable Development
In a bid to usher in sustainable progress and enhance the quality of life for citizens, Prime Minister Narendra Modi rolled out the ‘Muft Bijli Yojana’ on Tuesday. This ambitious initiative aims to provide free electricity, illuminating households across the nation.
Generous Budget Allocation
With a substantial budgetary allocation of Rs 75,000 crores, the central government is poised to extend the benefits of this scheme to every corner of the country. Under the program, households stand to receive up to 300 units of electricity free of charge each month.
Promoting Solar Power
In a strategic move to integrate renewable energy sources into the mainstream, PM Modi emphasized the importance of solar energy. The government plans to incentivize Urban Local Bodies and Panchayats to promote the installation of rooftop solar systems, thereby reducing dependence on conventional power sources.
Direct Subsidies and Online Convenience
To ensure seamless implementation and maximum benefit dissemination, subsidies will be directly transferred to beneficiaries’ bank accounts. Additionally, a user-friendly National Online Portal will serve as a central hub for all stakeholders, enhancing accessibility and convenience.
In order to further sustainable development and people’s wellbeing, we are launching the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana. This project, with an investment of over Rs. 75,000 crores, aims to light up 1 crore households by providing up to 300 units of free electricity every month.
