History of Masala Chai

– 1 cup water – 1 cup milk – 2 teaspoons loose black tea leave – 1-inch piece of fresh ginger, grated – 2-3 whole green cardamom pod – 1 cinnamon stick – 4-5 clove – 2-3 black peppercorn – 1-2 teaspoons of sweetener (optional)


1. In a saucepan, add water and bring it to a gentle boil. 2. Add the grated ginger, cardamom pods, cinnamon stick, cloves, and black peppercorns to the boiling water.


3. Reduce the heat to low and let the spices simmer for about 5 minutes to release their flavors. 4. Add the loose black tea leaves and simmer for an additional 2-3 minutes. 5. Pour in the milk and stir well. Increase the heat and bring the mixture to a boil.

6. If desired, add sweetener to taste, such as sugar, honey, or a natural alternative like stevia. 7. Give it a gentle stir, and your perfect cup of Masala Chai is ready to be savored!
