On Tuesday, the UAE President Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed and Prime Minister Narendra Modi convened, marking the occasion when the UPI RuPay card service was inaugurated in Abu Dhabi.
On February 13, Prime Minister Narendra Modi embarked on a two-day trip to the United Arab Emirates, where he was warmly welcomed by President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. During their meeting, the two leaders introduced the UPI RuPay card service in Abu Dhabi, highlighting the strengthening ties between the two nations. As a gesture of respect and honor, Prime Minister Modi was also presented with a guard of honour upon his arrival in the country, reaffirming the importance of this visit and the mutual respect shared by both nations.

Afterwards, he received a ceremonial welcome at the Presidential Palace, also known as Qasr Al Watan. Following this, the leaders will engage in meetings to advance their bilateral strategic partnership.
During his meeting with UAE President, PM Narendra Modi said, “I thank you for the warm welcome. Whenever I come here to meet you, I always feel I have come to meet my family. We’ve met 5 times in the last 7 months, it’s very rare and reflects our close relationship.”
Additionally, he stated his intention to speak at a special event in Abu Dhabi, where he will address the Indian community members residing in all the Emirates of the UAE.
