In a landmark achievement for India’s defence sector, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the successful first flight test of the indigenously developed Agni-5 missile. The test was conducted under Mission Divyastra.
The Agni 5 missile, capable of striking targets at ranges up to 5,000 kilometres with a very high degree of accuracy, was tested with Multiple Independently Targetable Re-entry Vehicle (MIRV) technology.
PM Modi took to social media to congratulate the scientists of the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) for this significant accomplishment. He expressed pride in DRDO’s achievement and referred to the mission as “Divyastra”.
